Though many of our customers at Galls are well aware of this week, we feel it’s our duty to make sure others have not forgotten.
We certainly appreciate all that is done hour by hour across the country to help injured citizens with pre-hospital emergency medical care. The timely response of these EMS personnel is often a matter of life and death!
Promoted and financially supported by The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), “National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s front line.”
Information about EMS Week that can be used this week and throughout the year for public education and safety programs can be found by visiting the ACEP website here.
Emergency medical workers – EMT’s, paramedics and even police and firefighters – are the first responders who arrive at emergency scenes. Their efforts bring stability to what are often very confusing moments for the general public.
First, their presence is reassuring. But primarily, they are there to help injured citizens in the most effective and efficient manner that their training allow.
For anyone who’s life or health has been placed into the hands of these men and women, they fully understand the reasoning behind devoting a week to honoring emergency medical providers.
